The Disappearing Dollar and UUP
Posted November 12th, 2009 by Steve Reeves
Kiss the Dollar Good-bye, that's the way the media and Wall Street has been treating the U.S. currency lately. As more negative press is spilled out on an hourly basis about the declining greenback the PowerShares DB US Dollar Index Bullish (NYSE:UUP) continues its fade to black. If only the dollar was made for loving you.
Goldman Sachs Justifies Outrageous Salaries (GS)
Posted November 11th, 2009 by theStockMasters...
Goldman Sachs' (NYSE:GS) CEO explained to the public that they pay more because their employees are more productive and just downright special. Quote of the Year --"What people fail to mention is that net income generated per head is a multiple of our peer average. The people of Goldman Sachs are among the most productive in the world." Show me the Money.

Green Mountain Spills the Coffee: Shares -10% After-Hours
Posted November 11th, 2009 by theStockMasters...
We know, perhaps the cheesiest headline you read today, almost as bad as a 1960's space alien from Star Trek. However, it's not funny for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. (NASDAQ:GMCR) shareholders who are now victim to trigger happy traders pushing shares down 10% after-hours.
Green Mountain just posted a decent quarter but it's the guidance that is panicking sellers. The company's first quarter GAAP earnings per share is estimated in the range of $0.11 to $0.15. Too bad the Street analysts expected earnings of $0.21 per share.

Obama Loan Sharking Around in Asia
Posted November 11th, 2009 by theStockMasters...
President Obama's maiden voyage to Asia has all the looks of a come-to-banker meeting, says William Pesek - except the reality dawning on Asia is that Obama can't promise that the U.S. can repay its debt and keep the dollar from crashing. Let's hope they call in the loan in a smooth way.

The Nation on Smith Micro Shares Punished for Honesty
Posted November 6th, 2009 by theStockMasters...
Smith Micro Software (NASDAQ:SMSI) shares were punished yesterday by a huge -25% selloff for lowering its forward revenue numbers. Smith Micro shares are picking themselves off the ground in a bloody mess up 2% for a TGIF trading session. SMSI had a wipe out yesterday of $64 million in market cap. Could the selloff be a bit too much? Since when is being honest and unsure worth 1/4 of your company's share price? Apparently investors could not handle the truth.
